You Were the Risk I Wanted (Poem #1)

In the end
I could still not say
that we never should’ve started
because if all along
I knew that you’d be a mistake
then i still would’ve kept assuring everyone
that i will not regret

If all along i knew you’d be a crime
I’d commit you anyway
while asking for forgiveness the whole time

In the end
I could still not say
that when you walked my way
I should’ve scurried away

In the end
as i hold on to the pieces of myself
I could still not say
that i was a victim
that i was betrayed
because all along
the risk hid beneath my head
but i took it anyway
and ended up wanting it.

Just reading and writing my way out of this messy adult life! I have transitioned from having piles of notebooks stacked underneath my bed from writing on the internet and allowing people worldwide to read.

  1. This is a lovely poem. I just read it and decided to write an answer poem to yours:

You Were The Rush I Waited

    In the beginning
I could still choose to stay
where you’d be my endless trip
    because along the way
I hoped I’d be your mistake
then I still would’ve incurring myself
    that I won’t feel guilty.

If all along you’d be my handcuffs
I’ll stay in prison without you
while praying for tireless time we had.

    In the beginning
    I could still be silenced
that when I ran your path
I should’ve stay by your side.

    In the beginning
as I carry on to the last piece of you
I could still choose to stay
    that I am a rapist
that I was molesting your heart
    because along the way
    the rush kid beneath mine
    but I stole it anyway
and ended up giving it away.

This is a poem of regret and guilt. Hope you like it! 😊

  2. An interesting dialogue is price comment. I feel that you must write more on this matter, it won’t be a taboo topic however typically persons are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
