There is no longer a District 12, it has been destroyed when Katniss bombed the arena. Coincidentally, District 13, which the capital claimed to have vanished, truly existed. Gale, Katniss’ bestfriend, successfully saved some families, including Primrose and Katniss’ mother.
After the Quarter Quell, she was considered as mentally ill when she stayed in a hospital jn District 13. The hovercraft that rescued her went directly to District 13. This district is located underground, but it turned out to be so much better the district where she came from. The people never went hungry and are now being educated and trained.
Katniss Everdeen became the Mockingjay, or the face of rebellion. Meanwhile, Peeta is still on the hands of the capitol, being held captive. As the mockingjay, she began going to different districts and began making propagandas to strengthen the rebellion. When she realized that Peeta is suffering, she asks to save him. When he was saved, he wasn’t the same Peeta anymore. He was already programmed by the capitol to kill Katniss. Along with Peeta, Annie who was Finnick’s lover, was also saved. After they were reunited, District 13 decided to hold a wedding celebration. When everything was going well, they decided that it was time ro take down the capitol.
Gale, Peeta, Katniss, Finnick and the others were on 451, which meant they have to fight together. On their journey, they were bomber and the capitol thought they’re dead, that the mockingjay is gone and they can finally claim victory. However, Katniss and her team (some died) are still alive and are still moving underground. When they were almost through, everyone in her team was killed except for Gale, Peeta and her two guides. They were already near the President’s mansion, so they decided to keep moving by using disguise. The rebels started attacking by then, and in the end people who fought for the capitol lost.
Still, it wasn’t a happy ending. After making President Snow surrender and Coin took over, Katniss felt like something is wrong. Primrose died, her mother was far away and she felt like she has been used once again, this time by Coin. By the time she was about to kill Snow, she killed Coin instead. In the end it was Paylor who became president (through fair decision making) and Katniss married Peeta, and had Kids.
