Upon knowing you more
I knew too that behind the bitterness
for the girl you loved first
lies longing and thirst for her presence
You never dared say it out loud
but you miss her
and you are hoping to find
something in me that she once had.
Well, it would be nice to call you mine
but I won’t be a patch to your heart
I won’t pretend to be someone that I am not.
