They All Fall Down by Roxanne St. Claire – Novel Summary
It started with Mackenzie Summerall being voted to be included in the top 10 Hottie list. She was fifth, and since then, she became popular and became friends with 9 other gorgeous girls on the list. She was different because she’s a geek (loves Latin and really studies). She lives with her mother, because his father went away probably because of the death of her brother, Conner, 2 years ago.
Cause of Conner’s death – He works in a pharmacy and Kenzie insisted on going with him. She was playing with her necklace and it fell down, then she asked Conner to get it. He ended up dying while getting the necklace because it got stuck on a machine.
There were rumors that misfortune happens to the girls that gets included on the list. True enough, Kenzie got involved in these accidents – her brakes didn’t function, gas (stove) leak, and an accident on her bike.
Since it’s the 30th year of the list, they thought that there’s something different. According to the past hotties, the list is cursed. Everyone dies in an accident. This new batch is different because everyone is dying in order according to the list. When the fourth one died, Kenzie feared that she’s gonna be next. The curse takes effect when they tell someone else. First death, she jumped off a cliff. Second death, ate peanuts and she had an allergic reaction. Third and Fourth death, their car fell off the bridge. When it was Kenzie’s turn, her friends helped (Molly, her bestfriend and Levi Sterling, her boyfriend). Being a geek also helped her.
The truth:
The list isn’t really cursed. Jarvis (Josh’s father, who staged his own death to keep on killing) set up all their lists. She even created the list himself because the girls on the list are easily manipulated to be on the same place at once. Jarvis’s father, Rex, owns an art museum underground and is also an assassin. They recruited Conner to be an assassin back when he was still alive, but he just couldn’t pass one test – which is to kill someone he loves. So they killed him and made it look like an accident.
Kenzie was able to kill Rex. Josh helped Kenzie stop Jarvis since Josh also doesn’t know that his father is alive. Josh is also mad at him for killing his mother. Kenzie was able to survive, along with Molly and Levi.
