Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins – Novel Summary
Isla has been involved with Josh for 3 years. She has mentioned it on Anna’s love story (Anna & the French Kiss). When the teacher caught her scribbling Josh’s skull tattoo, Anna knew that Isla liked Josh but still managed to keep it a secret even if they’re no longer friends.
Isla and Josh met at a kismet event where Isla was under medication for her tooth and she couldn’t recall what happened (she was flirty). School came and they hangout and dated.
Isla has a bestfriend named Kurt who later became friends with Nikhail, the brother of Sanjita (Isla’s ex-bestfriend) and Rashmi (Josh’s ex girlfriend).
Josh got expelled after running away with Isla to go to Barcelona. He was forced to be with his parents. His father is a senator and he had a chance to show Isla publicly as his girlfriend. They were happy because it was a long time since they’ve seen each other but sadly, it was the night they broke up because Isla thought that Josh doesn’t love her (she’s very shy and insecure).
While they are apart, Josh kept drawing his graphic bio (with more Isla in it).
Hattie (Isla’s younger sister) mailed a book to Josh which reveals that Isla is still inlove with him. That was the cue, they got back together after 2 months.
