Cuddling Lies (Poem #65)

He wove lies for you to wear

so you wore it like a cloak

deceived by your own hope

but little did you know

that everyone knows

what the cloak was truly made of

Everyone knew, except for you

that you’re living your fear

that the love you’ve always been cuddled with

is just a web of lies

waiting to be uncovered

You roam around with his arms on your shoulder

You roam around assured by a love that was never there.

Just reading and writing my way out of this messy adult life! I have transitioned from having piles of notebooks stacked underneath my bed from writing on the internet and allowing people worldwide to read.
