The Willing Captive (Poem #76)

She remembered falling down

always falling, never reaching the ground

she remembered climbing up

seeing shadows from the top

 

Then she heard a voice below

a voice from someone so well she knows

without a second thought

she let go of everything she used to hold

“take me” she whispered

“willingly” he answered
