Unheard (Poem #78)

That’s what you get when you open up

instead of being relieved

you end up being made fun of

every teasing smile makes your situation tough

forever hoping that in life

there’s a rewind button to tap

You’re always a second too late

for a good come back

and maybe a little too slow to know

when their words are gonna attack

they clearly got something that you lack

but with what you keep inside

will your outburst bring them into deep shock?

Every tiny step gone wrong is a big deal

what’s wrong with being real?

But tell them not to worry

for your lips are remained sealed

you learned your lesson

it was to never get drowned

into what looks like a sincere conversation

at the beginning listen to the tone

play safe and know that in their question

could lay the darkest intention
