Not Chosen (Poem #85)

I was obsessing

it was haunting


Just hours spent together

but the memories stayed forever

Just a few words exchanged

but it left my thoughts untamed

You know I’m just a phone call away

you know I’ve always wanted you to stay


Yet I know what’s holding you back

I know there’s just something I lack

I may be a sight to see

but I know, it’s just not me
