I caught your eye when I passed by

time stopped when you glanced

I smiled and thought

that it was my chance

 

Secret glances led to another

a single chance

led to a dozen more chances

I began believing that in your heart

I won a throne

yet who am I deceiving

when I knew from the very beginning..

That I caught your eye

but that was it

the love between our hello and goodbye

was simply a dazzling lie

 

You said it a hundred times

that I would be the only apple in your eyes

but while you were watching me

I know there’s someone else you’d rather see

 

I caught your sight

but she captured your mind

I touched your heart

but she was holding it

right from the very start
