Unsighted (Poem #99)

Written within my skin

is jealousy’s thick rhythm

another scene after a hundred times

I was left alone with a shadow

that’s no one else but mine

Skipping from guy to guy

falling deep then falling out

when someone better passes by

you are the lighthouse

they are the ships

Allured by you

they all start spitting vows

and your name

forever stayed on their lips

But I, my friend, am the last piece at the end

I’m someone hardly they could find

but easy to say nevermind

Written within this stack of jealousy

is the hope that despite your alluring light

despite my state of being out of sight

someone would take the risky road

ignore you, then find me.
