If My Heart Breaks (Poem #113)

Wouldn’t it be nice to prove them wrong?

Let the jaws drop of everyone

who said we couldn’t last this long

I was the one they continuously warned,

“He’ll break your heart

why are you willingly playing your part?”

Still in doubt

and not blinded by love

I could say that their rules were quite overrated

and obviously outdated

Nowadays girls are part of the game
and not the one being played

falling has become just like gambling

where both parties are playing

Foes and friends

remember this when you’d someday hear

that he broke my heart:

I wasn’t helpless when I got broken

I ended up a mess

but I found pleasure in the pain

So if my broken heart can take it

without doubt, I’ll do it all over again.
