In Words (Poem #114)

Others say that you seize each moment
when you’re inlove
you forget about the thing
you can do with a pen
as you set it aside
now that you’re head is in cloud nine
and your heart up above

They say you stop writing
once you start falling
because each time spent
is meant to nurture the feeling

So label me different
because even when I haven’t entirely fallen
I already found hundred words
to describe the color of his eyes
the sound of his voice
the structure of his face
the freckles on his nose

Now don’t get me started with his hair, or his lips
or his sent that dominates the air
even when he isn’t even there

I guess this is how I’ll fall
a piece of paper won’t be enough
not even another half

I guess I’ll need an entire wall
to write about him
and then some more
to write about how I feel
with everything he does.

Just reading and writing my way out of this messy adult life! I have transitioned from having piles of notebooks stacked underneath my bed from writing on the internet and allowing people worldwide to read.
