Not the First but Just Like the Rest (Poem #121)

“You are my first”
are the words you crave to hear

You seek for girls and whisper in their ear:
“You are not the first one that I have loved
others may tell you how I screwed up my past
but everyday I’ll strive to gain your trust
you’re not my first but you’ll be my last”

And so the flowers bloomed in her heart
and travelled across her spine
what she thought was love
has corrupted her mind
he consumed her in the end
but for her, it doesn’t hurt at all
because the pain was one of a kind

He caught her when she fell
but never intended to hold on a little longer
anytime soon he’ll drop her
when he finds someone better

As innocent as she is
she stayed as he crossed his limits
and maybe she’ll stay despite the pain
if he haven’t heard the voices of other girls
the wound was still fresh when they said
“I was innocent once
but not until I got stained with the dirt
from his hands
it may be very painful to leave
but if you do, later on you’ll surely thank yourself”

Just reading and writing my way out of this messy adult life! I have transitioned from having piles of notebooks stacked underneath my bed from writing on the internet and allowing people worldwide to read.
