Forget Me for Now (Poem #136)

I’d help you forget

I’d free your mind

From our memories,

you would be spared

but brace yourself

for the day again we’ll meet

On that day

the table has turned

it would be the other way around

it would summon all the memories

buried deep on the ground

the memories you thought you’ve burned

I swear on that day

it would be your turn to mourn.

Just reading and writing my way out of this messy adult life! I have transitioned from having piles of notebooks stacked underneath my bed from writing on the internet and allowing people worldwide to read.
