Julie and Sam are lovers. They go to the same school and have plans on moving away together in college. They have been in a relationship for 3 years. Julie was new to town. Julie first saw Sam in the bookshop she is working in, they had their first conversation in the coffee shop Sam works.

Sam died – Julie got back from Seattle and Sam was supposed to pick her up. When Julie called Sam, he was still with his friends and it would be a 1 hour drive to get her. Julie said she would just walk and refused to answer any of his calls. Sam left the bonfire ans went to fetch Julie, but on his way, he got into a car accident and he died. Amber Reynolds is in a coma – she can’t remember what happened. She can’t move, can’t open her eyes, but she can hear her surroundings. Her husband, Paul and her sister, Claire are her visitors.

Then:

Lila Macapagal is back in Shady Palms to help their family business – Tita Rosie’s Kitchen. This was after she broke up with her cheating ex fiance.

One day, as she was serving customers, Derek Winter came to dine along with his stepdad, Mr. Long. Derek is a food critic who already gave them multiple bad reviews while Mr. Long is their landlord their renting to who is eager to kick them out.

Layla and Leeds met at a bed and breakfast – after Aspen’s wedding. Aspen is Layla’s sister. Leeds was part of the band and Layla was dancing on their song.

They talked after the wedding, spent the night with each other – and didn’t go home after even after everyone left the next day. Layla ended up staying in Leeds’ apartment.

They liked it each other but Gabe ended it this time – he went back to her ex, Stephanie. They just recently broke up and he felt like he needed to be there for her. Gabe apologized to Lucy.

Years later, Lucy was already working. She and her friends were celebrating her birthday in a bar – Gabe also happened to be there. He was going through a rough time, he and Stephanie broke up. Meddy Chan lives with her mom and she’s also very close to her aunts – Big Aunt, Second Aunt & Fourth Aunt.

Since Meddy is 26 and has long been single, her mom set her up for a date with someone she met online. It was her mom who set up her dating profile and talked to the guy online.

The date was okay but on their way home, the guy made a pass on Meddy and she didn’t like it. She tased him and they crashed into a tree – it was the guy who was driving Meddy’s car and he died. Elle’s father, Randall, was in prison because of Charlotte. Randall and Charlotte were lovers before. Charlotte claimed that Randall pushed her down the basement where it killed her baby – and it almost killed her. However, Randall claims he is innocent, and he wants Elle to prove that.
